Hi, I'm Brooke.

I live in the East Kootenays with my husband, our little boy, and way too many animals. I’m happiest outside - love a good mountain view. Photography started as something I loved and somehow turned into getting to document people in the places I love most. I keep sessions easy, fun and pretty laid-back because I’d much rather photograph you actually being yourselves than spend an hour trying to make everything perfect.

FAQ
Do you travel for photoshoots?
Yes. Travel throughout the East Kootenays is included. Sessions outside my regular service area may be subject to a travel fee.
What should we wear for our session?
Neutral, earthy tones photograph beautifully in the Kootenays. Creams, browns, olive greens, denim, soft blues, and warm neutrals work especially well. I’m always happy to help coordinate outfits before your session.
How many images do we recieve?
Each collection includes all of the best images from your session, thoughtfully selected and hand-edited in my signature style.
Can we bring our dog?
Absolutely. Dogs are welcome at many outdoor locations and often make sessions even more personal and meaningful.
Do you help with posing?
Absolutely. I’ll gently guide you throughout the session so you never have to wonder what to do. My goal is to create natural interaction rather than stiff poses.
What if my child doesn't cooperate?
That’s completely okay. My sessions are child-led and relaxed. I focus on connection rather than perfect poses, which often results in the most meaningful photographs.
Where do sessions take place?
I photograph throughout Cranbrook, Fernie, Kimberley, Jaffray, Baynes Lake, Lake Koocanusa, and surrounding East Kootenay communities. I’m happy to recommend locations based on the look you’re after.
What happens if the weather is bad?
If conditions are unsafe or the weather will significantly impact your session, we’ll reschedule at no additional cost.
How long will it take to receive our gallery?
Galleries are typically delivered within a week.
Do you provide RAWs/Un-edited images?
No. Editing is an important part of my artistic process, and only fully edited images are delivered.
Can Grandparents or extended family join?
Yes. Please let me know when booking so I can ensure you’ve selected the collection that best suits your group size as the The Short Story session would not be suitable for this.
How do we book?
A signed agreement and a $50 non-refundable retainer are required to reserve your date.
What if we need to reschedule?
Life happens. Sessions may be rescheduled due to illness, emergencies, or weather with reasonable notice.
When is the best time for photos?
Golden hour—shortly after sunrise or before sunset—offers the most beautiful light. But I can make any lighting work :)
I’ll help determine the best time based on your chosen location and season.
